Secular humanism is a man-made religion that teaches that man is the ultimate authority on all matters, not God. This religion claims that God flat out does not exist and that there is no such thing as the supernatural, therefore only natural and material things exist. This is the only “official religion”  permitted to be taught as “fact” in American public schools today (Torcaso v. Watkins, 367 U.S. 488 – 1961). Secular humanist teaching (i.e. brainwashing) attempts to force young minds into accepting one of three false humanistic sub-religions in the following order of preference : 1) atheism, 2) agnosticism, and 3) deism. All three are vehemently anti-Christian, and also intellectually and philosophically bankrupt.

Atheism is the 1st variant form of secular humanism. Atheists claim to know that: “There is no God.” Atheists must think they are omniscient (all knowing) or omnipresent (present everywhere) to make this claim. By claiming that “there is no God” they must also believe that “everything that exists came into existence from nothing.” But, “nothing” does not and cannot exist. “Nothing” by definition is the absence of something — it cannot exist independently. If “nothing” actually existed it would be “something”. So, how can “something”, let alone “everything” come from nothing?! It simply cannot. Atheism demands of it’s followers 100% blind faith. The Greek philosopher Aristotle (384–322 BC) wisely proclaimed: “Nothing is what rocks dream about!” And that is what the foundation of atheism is built entirely upon – nothing. Atheists would be wise to read Psalm 14:1.

Note: Many who claim to be atheists do not claim “There is no God.” Instead, to sound a bit more rational they attempt to redefine atheism to mean: “Atheists just do not believe in God”, but by that definition new born babies, cats, dogs, and even orangutangs are atheists! Truth be told, these truly misguided atheists are actually closet agnostics, which is our next category.

Agnosticism is the 2nd variant form of secular humanism. There are two forms:

1) Hard Agnosticism claims: “I don’t know if God exists and no one else can know either!” In other words, they claim to know it is impossible to know if there is a God. But, how can they possibly know that?! Hard Agnosticism is in fact more irrational and off base then even atheism. One more false man-made religion whose foundation rests entirely upon thin air and requires 100% blind faith from all its followers.

2) Soft Agnosticism claims: “I don’t know if God exists, but it’s possible for someone to know.” While this view is obviously more rational then Hard Agnosticism, it is more often then not used by insecure humanists as an intellectual cop-out so they don’t have to actually make a rational decision. One of the oldest principles of rational philosophy is ex nihilo nihil fit, which is Latin for: “Out of nothing, nothing comes.” Almost everyone understands this self-evident truth. Either the material universe (all space, matter, time, and energy) is eternal and exists necessarily, which according to both science and philosophy is completely impossible, or God exists. Agnostics would be wise to read: Romans 1:18-20.

Paganism is a broadly defined category which encompasses all false man-made religions that worship the creation rather then the Creator. For instance, a pagan religion may believe that the universe is god, or men can become gods, or everything is god, or that nature or even the earth itself is god. Most but not all pagan religions are therefore polytheistic and believe in many gods. Hindus, Mormons, New Agers, followers of Scientology (whose “holy text” is a 50′s science fiction article written for Astounding Science Fiction magazine), Druids, Satanists, Witches, Buddhists, and countless others are all by definition pagans. Pagans really should read: Romans 1:22-25.

Deism is the 3rd variant form of secular humanism. Deists believe that God created the universe, therefore they rightly conclude that God must be an uncaused First Cause who is transcendent, timeless, spaceless, changeless, and immaterial. That is because God created all time, space, matter, and energy. The only possible thing that perfectly fits this description is an unembodied Mind of enormous power who personally created the universe. But, that is where the deists journey for truth ends and comes to a grinding halt. That is because they also claim to know that God is “impersonal” and therefore all supernatural revelation, including miracles is impossible. Deists view God as a watchmaker who set up the universe to run on it’s own, then He simply walked away to never again intervene. This religion is almost exactly like atheism, except it is slightly more practical. But, is it true? No. Deism runs into the exact same problems as atheism and hard agnosticism. How could a deist know that God (who personally created the universe) is impersonal? Have deists been given some sort of supernatural revelation that God will not reveal Himself through supernatural revelation? Why is it that deism acknowledges the miracle of an ex nihilo (out of nothing) creation by God, yet then claim that any further miracles are completely impossible? Deism is an illogical intellectual cop-out position used by humanists who simply don’t want to be labeled an agnostic or atheist. Deists know perfectly well that God exists, but they refuse to glorify the very God who personally created them. Deists would be wise to read: James 2:19 and Romans 1:21.

Theism is a logically valid position that accepts the fact that a God personally created the universe. Theists understand that God gave mankind a freewill and a conscious, therefore God must be personal. So theists rightly and logically conclude that supernatural revelation and further miracles by God are possible. Out of theism branch the three major monotheistic faiths: Judaism, Biblical Christianity, and Islam. But, they each have radically different views concerning the historical Jesus of Nazareth. All Undecided theists must ask themselves: “Was Jesus of Nazareth an evil liar who duped many of his closest friends, family, and followers to their deaths, or was Jesus a deranged lunatic on par with a man who says he is a poached egg, or was Jesus just who He claimed to be – LORD!? Undecided theists would be wise to read: John 3:16-17, John 3:36, and John 3:18.

Judaism is the first monotheistic faith whose roots and genealogies go all the way back to when God first revealed Himself to Adam in the Garden of Eden. Orthodox Jews believe that God revealed Himself to Abraham, Moses, and the prophets as recorded in the Old Testament, but they soundly reject that the historical Jesus of Nazareth was their promised Messiah. In their minds, Jesus must have been a deranged lunatic when He claimed to be the promised Messiah – never mind that He performed countless miracles, literally fulfilled all 109 different first advent Messianic prophecies contained in the Old Testament, died as a sacrificial lamb on Passover, and left an empty tomb in Jerusalem for all to see.  Orthodox Jews would be wise to read: Acts 4:8-12.

Biblical Christianity is the second monotheistic faith which grew directly out of Judaism. Christianity is not a religion, but a relationship – with our personal Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He alone lived a sinless life, performed a ministry of miracles, fulfilled all the first advent Messianic prophecies, died on the cross to pay the full penalty for our sins, and three days later rose from the dead, exactly as He said He would! The amazingly strong historical evidence for the empty tomb, the numerous resurrection appearances at different places and at different times, and the radical change in the disciples after the resurrection (from quivering cowards to fearless evangelists willing to die rather then deny that Jesus had bodily risen from the dead and was God) all point to the same marvelous conclusion: that Jesus truly did rise from the dead and is the Messiah. God loves us so much that He made salvation so amazingly simple: Romans 10:9-13.

Islam is the third monotheistic faith founded by the warrior Muhammad (570-632 AD). It is a blatantly false man-made religion of war. It is a mix of eastern paganism, Judaism, and Christianity. According to the Qur’an (the oral teachings of Muhammad), Islam denies Jesus is the Christ, denies the deity of Jesus, denies Jesus is the Son of God, denies the Trinity, denies Jesus was crucified and rose again, and denies we even need a Savior. Rather, we must do good works for Allah. The gross historical inaccuracies found in the Qur’an are simply staggering. To claim that Jesus was not crucified (almost 600 years after the fact!) is about as nuts as denying the Nazi holocaust during WWII. Even the mostly hostile secular (pagan) historians of the 1st and 2nd century never denied the historical truth that Jesus of Nazareth was crucified and killed by Pontius Pilate during the reign of Tiberias. Muslims would be wise to read what the Apostle Peter once wrote: 2 Peter 1:16-19.

The evidence and way to the Truth is clear and obvious: The bones of Muhammad are still in Medina, the bones of Confucius are still in Shantung, the cremated bones of Buddha are still in Nepal, the bones of Joseph Smith are still in Nauvoo, Illinois, the bones of Friedrich Nietzsche (“God is Dead”) are still in Röcken bei Lützen, Germany, the bones of Karl Marx are still in London, the embalmed corpse of Vladimir Lenin is still on display in Moscow, and the cremated bones of L. Ron Hubbard are still (somewhere) in the Pacific Ocean. But, Jesus’ tomb, just outside Jerusalem near Golgotha where Jesus was crucified, IS empty!

There is only one way to God and that is by accepting Jesus Christ’s free gift of pardon which He purchased for you on the cross. Jesus said:

“I AM the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” – John 14:6

Jesus invites all who will listen to simply: “Come!”:

“’…I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.’ And the Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let him who hears say, ‘Come!’ And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.” – Revelation 22:16-17

Have a blessed day!
